Spider Control

spider and spider web

A lot of people fear and dislike spiders. It should be noted, though, that spiders are beneficial due to their role as predators of other pests. In most instances, spiders are completely harmless to humans. The only two harmful spiders that pose a threat in Arlington, Texas are the black widow and the brown recluse.

Black Widow Spiders

Usually, venomous spiders such as the black widow aren’t going to come into your home. If they’re found in homes, they are in undisturbed, dark areas such as garages, basements and closets. More often, black widows spiders are discovered in wood piles. In order to protect yourself, make sure that members of your family always wear gloves when reaching into wood piles or hard-to-reach areas. As you may already know, black widow spiders can be identified by a jet-black body with a red hourglass shape on its underside.

Brown Recluse Spiders

Brown recluse spiders possess a variety of adaptive abilities, including the ability to survive up to 10 months with no food or water. Compared to the normal spider, the brown recluse has 6 pairs of eyes instead of 8. Their bite is not felt right away but that doesn’t mean that it is not dangerous when not treated. It can be identified by its brown body and black fiddle on its body.

If you see a black widow or brown recluse in or around your home or business then you should call us immediately.
